Intervention
Early intervention programs are designed to help participants who have suffered consequences from use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs an opportunity to evaluate the personal, social, emotional and monetary effects that their use of these chemicals have caused. These programs are provided in the following:
- Alcohol Education Program
(72-hour jail alternative program) for first time DUI offenders. *See specific program for further details and dates. - Insight
Substance abuse education for teens. Can be court, school, parent or self referred. *See specific program for further details and dates. - Tobacco Education Program (TEG)
Provides extensive education to youth about tobacco and tobacco use. Can be court, school, parent or self referred. - Tobacco Education Group
Tobacco Education Group is designed to provide education to students who are caught using or possessing tobacco products on school grounds. It is a positive alternative to suspension. The structured eight session program uses a combination of lectures, learning activities, videos, demonstrations and cooperative learning activities to give young people the knowledge, motivation and action steps to make good decisions about tobacco use. - Tobacco Awareness Program
Tobacco Awareness Program is designed to help young people who want to quit using tobacco. The eight session program gently guides tobacco users to their personal-selected quit date and helps them to remain tobacco-free. Both guidance and support are provided for participants as they move toward their decision to gain freedom from the nicotine habit.
