Sandra's Lighthouse is a three-quarter-way house for women in recovery. This house is not subsidized, nor is it a treatment center. Sandra's Lighthouse is an independent single family home shared by four recovering women. Residents equally divide the rent and all other living expenses. The house is run democratically with every member of the "family" having an equal vote. Weekly house meetings are held to discuss finances, household tasks and any other problems that exist. If any member is found to have returned to drinking or using any other drug, that member is "voted out" of the house.

The residents of Sandra's Lighthouse regularly attend Alcoholics Anonymous or other 12-step meetings. Residents are also active in a Relapse Prevention program, participate in counseling and attend the weekly house meetings. Residents also meet weekly with the case manager, who is employed by STEPS. This case manager helps residents in goal setting, budgetary matters, nutrition and other issues that will enhance their self-sufficiency.

Sandra's Lighthouse offers an alternative to old friends and old places while providing the time and peer support necessary to develop a new recovery-based behavior pattern.

Women who have been in recovery for at least 30 days, who have been employed for 30 days or have another source of income, and who are active in a 12-step program are eligible to reside at Sandra's Lighthouse
