STEPS offers a wide range of mentoring opportunities for youth in the Wayne County area. Current programs include Listen Ears, with the Wooster City Schools, and Mentor at the Center, in cooperation with the Wooster Community Youth Center. We provide training and support for teens and adults interested in becoming mentors. In addition, STEPS sponsors regular mentor/youth activities at sites throughout the area. Research shows that mentoring programs have a tremendous positive impact on a youth's ability to resist alcohol and other drug use. Staff members accept direct referrals from school and juvenile court personnel regarding youth who might benefit from a mentoring relationship. We do our best to find the perfect "match" of mentor and youth. All mentoring sessions take place in supervised environments under the direction of qualified staff.
